Recent Projects
Nolan Rumsby Planners has made a successful challenge to the Environment Resources and Development Committee of Parliament, on behalf of the Jeffries Group, one of only two major organics waste composters in metropolitan Adelaide, to overturn certain policies of the authorised Minister’s Buckland Park DPA.
The authorised DPA provided the opportunity for sensitive residential, industrial and recreational activities to be established in the critical 2 odour unit area generated (in worst conditions) by the nearby composting site. Changes adopted by the Committee include odour mapping now shown on the “Development Constraints” maps, and additional policy directions in the odour affected areas. Master planning for the further development of the strategic Jeffries site is continuing and the cap on the annual waste processing tonnage has already been lifted (as a variation to the Major Projects approval).
